Imperva Capture the Flag Feb 2024 was a hands-on cybersecurity competition hosted by Imperva, a global provider of data, application, API, and DDoS security solutions. The event brought together IT professionals, developers, and cybersecurity teams from across the region to solve practical, real-world security challenges in a competitive environment.
This Capture the Flag (CTF) event featured a series of technical missions that tested participants’ skills across four key areas: Application Security, Account Takeover Threats, Advanced Persistent Bot Threats, and API Security. Participants earned points by solving each challenge, progressing through different levels of difficulty, and moving up the leaderboard.

Challenges included identifying vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications, detecting and blocking bot activity, investigating account takeover scenarios, and securing exposed or misconfigured APIs. Rather than focusing on theory, the Imperva Capture the Flag Feb 2024 competition simulated real-world attack and defense scenarios, making it a valuable upskilling opportunity for security professionals.
This event reinforced the growing importance of application-layer and API security. As businesses increasingly rely on digital platforms, threats targeting these layers have become common entry points for attackers. By taking part in events like Imperva CTF, participants improved their understanding of modern attack vectors and strengthened their ability to defend against them.
Chillisoft proudly supported this education-focused initiative, continuing our commitment to helping teams across New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific build practical, frontline cybersecurity skills.
If you missed the Imperva Capture the Flag Feb 2024, we encourage you to stay tuned for future events. These competitions are an excellent way to test your knowledge, grow your capabilities, and stay ahead of emerging threats in an evolving cybersecurity landscape.
