Gartner-leader PAM and ISaaS vendor CyberArk and specialist IT security distributor Chillisoft have signed a distribution agreement for New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Alex Teh, CEO at Chillisoft, believes that by adding CyberArk to their complementary cybersecurity solutions portfolio, Chillisoft will continue down its path of achieving the ‘Gartner-leader cross-pollination effect’. “Partners and customers that are looking for best-in-class security solutions can come to Chillisoft with the knowledge that they will get enterprise-class sales/technical support and services homegrown in NZ.”
Teh notes that, “CyberArk has been the market leader in the Privilege and Access Management (PAM) space for a long time, and with the acquisition of Idaptive for Single Sign On (SSO) and adaptive Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), CyberArk can now uniquely provide an end-to-end solution for the entire Identity and Access Management (IAM) stack.”
The NZ IT industry heavily relies on bringing in specialist skills on a project by project basis. Outsourcing individual jobs in enterprise IT projects are the norm. However with the rise in cyber-attacks (40% increase in 2020 according to NSCS), it is now more important than ever to ensure that the privileges afforded to those contractors are limited to what they are commissioned to do. Having proper auditable reports on their actions while on the job becomes crucial for compliance and reassurance that there are no instances of insider threat or account compromise.
Covid19 has seen a dramatic rise in home and remote working. These machines are more vulnerable to compromised attacks as they are not behind the strong gateway defences afforded when at the office. IDaaS solutions allows strong and effective authentication to corporate application that can be used to provision and de provision users dynamically and quickly. This user case provides additional benefits for getting new or old users on and off the network quickly and efficiently.
Bruce Nixon, Director of channel in ANZ, says, “CyberArk has already had great success in NZ with premier foundation customers, however CyberArk is looking to double its growth in this market in 2021 by working with Chillisoft to selectively expand our partner base”.
Nixon adds that, “By signing Chillisoft, we are able to ensure that we have virtual feet on the street to drive through channel enablement and opportunity generating activities on a regular basis. Chillisoft’s razor-like focus on cybersecurity gives us the confidence that our distributor can be a true extension of our ANZ team.”
